Mom: " I guess if you really want to come in you'll just have to wear Maddux's shoes she left in the car. "

I was trying to teach this kid a lesson about wearing shoes. The kid lost 3 pairs of flip flops already this summer, and seems to never put his shoes on when he is suppose to. He didn't seem to mind wearing girl shoes though.

Casey spoiled me rotten on my birthday this year. I had been wanting this patio table and chairs and had been watching it to go on sale all spring. When it finally did, I begged to get it and told him it would count as Mother's day, birthday, and Christmas! He let me get it, Yahoo!
As many of you know, I lost my camcorder on our cruise on the beaches of Cabo in March. I was devastated and cried. Well, when Casey surprised me with a weekend getaway to Park City, and then gave me a new camcorder, I cried again!As if that wasn't enough, Casey had more surprises up his sleeve. I have ALWAYS wanted to go in a hot air balloon. I remember going with my mom to the hot air balloon festival on the 4th of July and thought they were beautiful. Casey had planned to just take me on the balloon ride (which also explains the camcorder as this is a once in a lifetime activity- muy expensivo) and the kids were to join us in Park City after our ride. Turns out that the wind was not cooperating so it looked like our balloon ride was going to have to be put on hold for another trip. After much thought (mostly because of the cost), we decided to go the following day and bring the kids along with us!

To end the wonderful weekend, the Folkman's had us over for a wonderful dinner and cake! Thanks to Casey for making me feel so special. I LOVE your surprises! You're the best!

Scofield Memorial Day Weekend 2010

Memorable Moments of Memorial Day weekend in Scofield-
1- Great Company! Clark's, Olsen's, Lundberg's, and my dad!

2- Thanks to the Clark's we really rough it and get to watch outdoor movies around the campfire, it is so much fun!

3- The absolute most memorable moment was when Ryllie shot out the Clark's window with her bb gun. Casey and I probably went a little overboard when we scolded her, but she definitely learned her lesson on the importance of gun safety.

4- The Reich's were staying in their family cabin in town, and let us come up for a bit and play on their playground and visit. We sure love the Reich's, can't ever get enough of them. Sorry guys, you're stuck with us!

4- The kids had so much fun playing and getting dirty all weekend. They especially loved riding the 4 wheelers with River.
5- Let us not forget the memorable moment of when Casey buried the front of the trailer!!! lol

Kindergarten Graduation!

Maddux had the honor of speaking at her Kindergarten graduation. Only 4 kids in her class got to speak. She had the honor of saying, "We have worked so very, very hard." in her Kindergarten program. Seriously, isn't that the coolest that she got to say one whole sentence? I love this video because she says her line and sounds like a southern belle. I love how she knows all eyes are on her and walks with such grace back to her seat. And then the outfit! You gotta love Max. Wearing her "if you want drama, here I am" shirt with a rockin the 80's sparkle belt and a skirt. She is hilarious! Congratulations to my imaginative, determined, boy crazy, stubborn, funny, independent little Maxi! I love you!

Fox Hollow Elementary Dance Festival 2010

Cy liked playing Itty Bitty baseball at the Legacy Center. His coach was my friend Celeste. Celeste and I met working at USA back when Casey and I first got engaged. It was fun to see her again! While we were in St. George, I took my girls shopping at the Children's Place. I told them they could pick out an outfit, and Maddux found this dress and carried it around the store the entire time we were there. Now I am not a fan of this dress, I think it is a tad bit on the ugly side, and I tried and tried to convince her to pick some of the other adorable dresses that they had there, but she would not budge. She LOVED this dress. I finally caved and said fine, it's only $6. When we got back to my mom's she was so excited to put it on, and she came out to model it and told us all that this was her new ketchup and mustard dress! LOL! She is hilarious. And that is what we have called this dress ever since.

Spring Break in St. George

After Easter, the kids and I headed down to St. George to spend the week. Kenice, Mitsy, and I went down with our kids and had a blast hanging out with the family. We were able to get 3 day passes for free to the Rec Center Kaysha works at. We went swimming almost everyday. We played basketball, went rock climbing, watched Jarom & Z's baseball games, went to the park, went shopping at the outlets, sewed pajamas with grandma, made a fort on the banks of the river mom lives by, and went to Zion's National Park. In Zion's we took the kids on a small hike. We rode the shuttle all the way to the top (which was a good 45 minute ride with all the stops). We made it up there with no problems, but within a few minutes of getting off the shuttle, Hadlie ran her hand across a wood fence and ended up with slivers all over her hand, and Cy took the spray sunscreen and sprayed it right into his eyes! Poor little guy! After some work, and food, and potty breaks, we finally started the hike. The hike was gorgeous and the kids did great, but the shuttle back down was long and kids were tired and annoying and fun and lovable Aunt Hollie turned into a grumpy witch. :) Fortunately the self-acclaimed favorite Aunt Waynsh (aka Kaysha) was there and she gave me a chill pill. Aside from the shuttle ride, the trip to Zion was fun and memorable and I would totally do it again.

The other thing I wanted to mention about this spring break was how wonderful my mom and dad were all week. They had a houseful to say the least and they were kind and patient the entire week. Also, my mom spent time teaching my girls how to sew, and helping them make pajamas which my girls absolutely love and wear all the time. I am planning to take pictures of them in their pajamas so I will post them later. Thanks to the St.George crew for having us! We love you all and had so much fun, just wish you lived closer. PS Kaysha, what are you guys talking about?

Easter and Cuckoo's Crazy Egg Hunt

Easter fell on General Conference weekend this year. We loved laying around in our jammies and listening to the leaders of the church inspire us! What a wonderful way to spend Easter! As tradition, we headed over to Cuckoo's for the annual Easter egg hunt and dinner. This hunt just seems to get crazier every year. We keep accumulating more and more eggs. There were probably close to 500 eggs stuffed with candy, and only 10 children there to find them. Needless to say, they each had a huge basket full of candy that I enjoyed for the next month. :) hee hee. Cuckoo also spoiled them with a cute Easter gift and a webkinz. My kids are SPOILED!

10 year anniversary cruise!

Casey and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary (March 7, 2000) on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship! This was our first time cruising and can I just say, "I love, love, love, loved it!" To start the trip we drove to Vegas and stayed at the Renaissance hotel. We met up with old high school friend Amber and her husband who live in Vegas and had a blast going to dinner at Casey's favorite steakhouse called "The Steakhouse". This restaurant is in the middle of Circus Circus (which is such a dump), and it is super nice and has been voted best steakhouse 30 years in a row. It is hilarious that it is located inside Circus Circus, but while we were there we went up to play some of the circus games Casey loves to play. I started telling our friends how he plays this game that is impossible to win and how he has wasted so much money playing it, and "bam" he won it! In my face for sure! He had some cool prizes to choose from and he insists on this oversized monkey the size of me! On Sunday, we finished our drive to Cali and boarded the ship. The ship was massive! I mean, I had heard these ships are huge, but I really had no idea! It had an auditorium bigger than my highschool's, it had an ice skating rink, pools, basketball courts, miniature golf courts, a casino, a strip mall, rock climbing walls, movie room, spa, not to mention the enormous dining room and buffets! Our first stop was Cabo, which was beautiful and as I enjoyed filming all the beautiful scenery and Casey swimming in the ocean, and then we went to a little restaurant and I went to get my camcorder out of my bag to film the cute servers who were serenading us, and my camcorder was gone! My brand new $500 camcorder I just got for Christmas a year ago was gone! I still don't know what happened, but I pretty much freaked out. Casey kept saying that it was just a camcorder and not to stress, but I had a bunch of footage I hadn't downloaded and I was so devastated! Needless to say, I tried to enjoy the rest of the day, but I finally had to just go back to my cabin and have a good cry about it. By dinnertime, I was okay, kindof. The next day we ported in Mazatlan, which we personally wonder why they port there. It was pretty run down and dirty, at least what we saw of it. We walked around the empty beach front for probably 7 miles and then we were done, we jumped in a cab and drove back to the ship and enjoyed the rest of the day snoozing by the pool. The next day was our favorite. We ported in Puerto Vallarta and had the best day. It is beautiful there and my good friend Sara told us about Pipi's, an amazing restaurant. It was the best mexican food ever. After we ate there we both went to a massage place and got a couples massage for 90 minutes for only $35 each! We strolled along the boardwalk and looked for souvenirs to bring the kids. Casey bought them new ponchos (the ones that remind me of what was popular in the 80's). He also found Cy and Hadlie t-shirts that have sharks whose mouths flip open and have fish inside the mouths, they are pretty funny and Cy LOVES his! We watched some fishermen fish on a small pier and saw puffer fish for the first time. On the ship, we enjoyed lots of amazing entertainment, and we met lots of new friends. At dinner, they place you with other guests, and we were fortunate to be placed with Bruce and Elizabeth. Bruce was celebrating his 50th birthday, and the two of them were so much fun. We were also seated with a nice couple from Korea (although they live in Canada now). The language barrier made it difficult, but they were very nice. Craziest thing, I ran into my friend Beth from highschool. She and her husband were cruising with all her siblings and parents. Small world sometimes! The dinners were amazing, and you could eat all that you wanted. I think we tried about every entree and every dessert availabe on that ship. :) We loved the trip, and I can't wait to cruise again. The only thing I would want to do next time, is have some friends come with us. When we got back to California, our friend Amy got us into Disneyland. We walked around for a couple of hours and realized we still felt like we were on the boat so the motion rides were not sounding fun. We also realized that Disneyland is way more fun with the kids. :) We drove back to Vegas and stayed in the new tower at the Palms. That was a NICE room! Especially after spending the week in the small cabins on the ship. We drove back home on Monday, and were anxious and excited to see the kids. Thanks Cuckoo for watching them, and for all my family and friends who pitched in to watch them and help out! We had a blast, and I am grateful for the 10 years I have had with this incredibly hot and funny man! Never a dull moment when Casey's around and I sure love him!

Don't be jealous that I have so many fun neighbors. We had our Michael Jackson party in February, and it was so fun! We all brought our own take out dinners and had a MJ trivia game and found out that one of my neighbors knows a little too much about MJ. Yes Laurie, I am talking about you. She is the one wearing the pink sweatshirt that says I love MJ. My friend Daniella rocked the MJ 80's look and I am always wondering where in the world she finds this stuff! Look at the classic green jelly shoes! After the trivia game we walked next door to Michelle's house (she's got the ginormous screen) and watched "This is It". It's always fun to spend time with friends and laugh a lot! Thanks gals.

Family Skate Night

The elementary school offers a free family skate night a few times a year, so we like to join the crowd and head over to good old Classic Skating. We had a blast with all of our friends. Casey won the men's speed skate contest, and Hadlie had fun her first time skating. We brought along one of Ryllie's friends, and Hailey had fun getting her groove on. Near the end of the night the crowd started to leave and pretty soon we had the entire skating rink to ourselves! We let the kids skate and ride their scooters a little too late that night considering it was a school night, but we did not regret one second. It was so much fun!

Casey & I took the kids individually to some BYU basketball games. I had forgotten how fun the college sporting events are. It has been years since I'd gone to a game. Maddux ended up going with dad and his buddy so no picture of Maddux. :( We had lots of fun spending one on one time with the kids. Hadlie is still too young for the games so she spent a few evenings with Cuckoo and loved it!

Hadlie turned 2 on January 17. We had the Hansen family come over to celebrate all the many birthdays that were in December, January, and February. Happy birthday to grandma Lori, aunt Noelle, aunt Julie, grandpa Mike, Maddux, Casey, Hadlie, Summer, and Rory!

We sure feel lucky to have this spunky little gal in our family. 2 is such a funny age, and she makes us laugh everyday. Hadlie talks a lot and is very loud, but we just don't know what in the world she is saying 90% of the time! She is very independent, and can definitely hold her own being the youngest. She has many nicknames; Hoo Hoo, Hooders, Isa, and poopsy love are the favorites. We love you Hadlie!

Don Franklin Hansen

I have put off writing this post for 2 months now, simply because I knew how difficult it would be for me to write. When I married Casey, I was fortunate to become the granddaughter of Don & LaRayne Hansen. Both have been an extremely important part of my life, and we were sad to have to say goodbye to grandpa on January 8, 2010. Grandma and Grandpa were the perfect example of how to love your spouse. They are truly soulmates and the PERFECT couple. :) Grandpa doted on grandma like I've never seen anyone dote on their wife. Grandpa was friendly and outgoing and had such a good memory (with

grandma's help too). He never forgot anyone he met, and was friends with everyone! (It was no surprise to see the line of people who came to pay their respects at his funeral, it stretched clear down the sidewalk and around the building!) He is Casey's best friend, and we knew saying goodbye to this jolly old man would be extremely difficult. One year ago he suffered from cardiac arrest and was gone for 7 minutes and we thought we lost him without being able to say goodbye. We ended up being able to enjoy one more year with him, and the year was full of joy and memories that I will never forget. He helped Ryllie pull a tooth, he let Maddux take naps on

lap, and let the girls do his hair in funky mohawks. He put clip on earrings on with Cy, and played the harmonica with him, and would snuggle with Hadlie. I got to hear him call me dear heart for one more year, and listen to him sing his silly songs, and tell some funny (and a little crude) jokes. :) He got to talk sports with Casey, and have some wonderful heart to hearts. During his last few days with us, he became unable to speak and open his eyes. As we were visiting him we knew we needed to say goodbye. I will never forget after Casey gave him a blessing, grandpa with all his energy wrapping his arm around Casey and telling him he loved him,

and he told us all that he loved us. I have never had an experience like this in my life where I was able to to say goodbye to someone before they passed on. I am forever grateful for that opportunity and for the Spirit. I am so grateful for the past 10 years of my life with grandpa. He is the BEST!

Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs for Max!

For Maddux's birthday party, we watched Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs and had a spaghetti dinner. The kids all loved it, and I thought it was a pretty easy birthday party to throw! Love that! This picture above is a picture of Maddux with two of her best friends the Fillmore girls. The Fillmores adopted Whitney from Ghana about 6 months ago, and she has been a wonderful addition in this neighborhood, we all love both Taylor and Whitney!

To celebrate the sealing, the family had a dinner and the cousins all ran around and played. Of course, mom who always thinks ahead, brought activities and coloring books, and balloons for the kids. The girl cousins got a little carried away.

The next day we all went to the rec center where Kaysha works, and played basketball, volleyball, swam, and were spoiled by Kaysha! We had so much fun! That night was New Year's Eve and the kids always have fun banging pots and pans at mom's.

Friday, the boys went shooting and the girls went shopping. We all went to the movies, to dinner, and just played.

Saturday was Casey's birthday. Our friends and neighbors Tyler and Renee Holland were also down for the weekend, so Casey and Tyler and Brady Flygare went golfing, and Renee and I took our kids miniature golfing and swimming. Ryllie is also friends with their daughter Kylee, they are even in the same school class. Nora's baptism was on Saturday night. The baptism was so sweet and special, and I am always inspired at what Kaysha has done with her life and with her kids as a single mother.

A Weekend Full of Special Events!

Our family went down to St.George over New Year's Weekend, and were able to celebrate so many special events! Maddux had her 6th birthday, Casey had his 32nd birthday, Nora was baptized, and my parents were sealed after over 20 years of being married! They were sealed in the St.George temple on their wedding anniversary! It was such special day for our family, and several of my brothers and sisters and aunts and uncles made the drive down in horrible weather conditions just to be there for the day. Here are a few pics at the temple (we are missing Grant & Karen in the pictures, they had to leave right after).

Christmas 2009

Christmas season this year came and went so quickly! On December 4 (Javin's birthday!), Casey & I went to his work Christmas party up at the Zermatt Resort in Midway. We decided to stay overnight there, and the next morning I woke up feeling kinda sick. Well, that kinda sick turned into really sick, and that nasty cold lasted for 6 weeks! I was suppose to be in charge of the Allen Christmas program again this year, but could not get feeling great, so my awesome sister Kenice ended up planning and executing the entire program and did a wonderful job! Thanks Neenie!

We did not do all the usual Christmas activities this year either, because I couldn't get feeling well, but Casey was able to take Ryllie (she got to take my ticket and I was super bummed) to the Mormon Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. He said the concert was wonderful.

On Christmas Eve, we enjoyed our family tradition of dinner and gifts at Cuckoo's house. Of course, she spoiled us all, and my kids love their animal pillows and jammies and webkinz! Thanks Cuckoo! We went to the Festival of Lights afterwards, as we have done most years since we have been married. We all love going, and the drive home usually puts at least 2 out of the 4 kids to sleep. :)

Christmas morning is always so much fun with the kids being at such fun ages and they are so excited to see what Santa brought them. Ryllie's favorite Santa gifts were a scooter, zum buddy, and new hairdryer and curling iron. Maddux's favorite Santa gifts were a MP3 player, Barbie DVD's, and lipgloss. Cy's favorite Santa gifts were a scooter, a buzz light year, and Cars fishing game. Hadlie's favorite Santa gifts were a Baby Alive doll, fur real pet, and candy from her stocking. The family's favorite gift was the Wii!

Around 11am we head over to Mike & Lori's. They always make us a wonderful breakfast and give us such nice gifts. Reflections

Both Ryllie and Maddux entered the Reflections contest at school this year. Ryllie took a beautiful picture that earned her a ribbon, and Maddux composed a piano song that earned her a trophy and an advancement to the State Reflections. I am so proud of both my daughters for going the extra mile and participating in the Reflections program. Way to go!

I know Ryllie will remember this special day forever. Ryllie was baptized on Halloween along with her friend Hailey C. We had some family there which made the day even more special. The baptism was wonderful and Ryllie said that she felt like Heavenly Father and Jesus were standing right next to her. The next day she bore her testimony for the first time, and I was overcome with emotion. I have always known that Ryllie would have a tremendous influence for good, and that she is a wonderful daughter, but when she stood to share her testimony, I was so incredibly proud and felt so blessed to have her as my sweet daughter. Ryllie, I love you, and I want you to know how much I love the gospel and how much I love our Savior, Jesus Christ. I hope you will always remember the way you felt at your baptism, and I hope you will always seek the guidance of the Holy Ghost. Love, mom

For Ryllie and Cy's birthday party, we decided to rent out the "sticky shoe" dollar movie theatre. When we got there, the janitors had not come so the theatres were disgustingly dirty. After some effort from the poor highschool students that work the concessions, we got the theatres picked up a little (and yes, they gave me a refund). After the little fiasco at the beginning of the party, the rest went great! The kids loved it, and I think I will do it again. No mess at home, the kids have fun, and it was actually pretty affordable to rent! The picture of Cy isn't great, but it was the only one I took there, oh well!

Ryllie is turning 8 next week, so she had the choice of whether or not she wants to get her ears pierced. No surprise that she wanted them pierced and was ancy and anxious and asking me to take her over and over. When we got to the mall she was a little scared and almost backed out, but she somehow decided to be brave and has some really cute earrings to show it! Love you Ryllie!

Deer Hunt 2009

We always have fun with the Hansen crew (and Corey) when we go down to Torrey for the so called "deer hunt". This year was especially fun because Kenice and her family were able to come down for a night. We enjoyed the gorgeous weather (we have lucked out for about 3 years in a row!) and I enjoyed time to read. I finished the Hunger Games, and Catching Fire, really good reads by the way! Casey, Adam, and Alec actually hunted this year! So the rest of us hung out at the lake, and let the kids fish, and then Kenice & I took kids on a drive through part of Capitol Reef National Park. Corey cooked us up delicious meals again, and we look forward to his cooking every year. And the kids enjoyed having lots of cousins to play with!

I got to bring pumpkin pie, my rally monkey to the Angels game. Daddy took us to the game for fun, and we got to eat hotdogs and drink sodas.

I was scared to go on the Tower of Terror, and after I went on it I realized this was my new favorite ride! After making a scene, I ended up riding it about 10 more times!

It was fun to have my cousins there and having someone to hang out with the whole time we were there.

I liked the all you can eat hotdogs, nachos, and sodas at the Dodgers game.

I had fun having Maddux with me, and she was the one who kept me company every night in the hotel!

We went to Angel's studio (I mean stadium). We went to Amy's house and played with her kids and swam in her pool and it was in California. At Disneyland I went on the Tower Hotel. It was fun! I remember I went on the Buzz Lightyear ride and mostly I had fun. I went on the Nemo ride with just dad, and he said it was a secret and not to tell mom, cause she had been wanting to go on it, and he kept saying he didn't want to wait in line, then just me and him went and snuck on it! In Hollywood we stopped for food and we were all playing "Big Eyes", and this picture is me and Ryllie doing "big eyes". At the Dodgers game I liked dancing after the game was over. My trip to Disneyland was fun!

My first trip to California was great! Disneyland was cool. I got to hang out with my dad a lot, and ride rides. My favorite ride was "It's a small world", even though I can't say words, I sang at the top of my lungs through the whole ride. Mostly I was happy as long as there was food in my hands. My mom put this tether thing on me, and told daddy to take me to buy a sucker or something. My daddy let me pick out the one I wanted, so I picked the one that was bigger than my head. So that tether thing, I didn't like it much so I threw a fit, and ended up winning after about 10 minutes of having it on, but I was a good girl and stayed by my family and didn't run off too many times. I liked the baseball games, especially the game where dad bought me my monkey. I learned how to say Cy's name, but it comes out sounding like "Ice", so we named my monkey Ice. I slept for most of the ride through Hollywood, but after lunch and some soda I was ready for the Dodgers game. People kept chanting "Let's go dodgers" and then they would clap. So I joined in, only thing is, everyone else had stopped so I looked pretty silly yelling really loud, and everyone laughed. I didn't really like wearing my shoes, so I kept taking them off, and even lost a shoe. My mom finally gave up putting them back on me, and I was free to wiggle my toes! I loved the beach too. My mom says Aunt Kaysha took pictures at the beach and she still hasn't gotten them from her, but trust me, I was cute as can be! What a fun vacation!

Half Triathlon- I did it!

My sister Kenice, sister-in-law Karen, and I decided 6 months ago that we wanted to try to do a half triathlon to get us motivated to get in better shape. Who knew, but I actually love swimming! We started training back in March, and I really enjoy swimming, but the bike kicks my butt. The race was on August 29th, and although my physique hasn't changed like I want it to, my energy and ability have increased, and I was able to complete the race and beat the time that I had set for myself. It was really fun too! Way to go sistas! By the way, my cute niece Hailey did the child's race and was awesome, and that is Adam's brother Dave in the picture as well, he rocked it!

Back to School... Man, I have cute kids!

It's about time I posted about back to school! Ryllie is absolutely loving 2nd grade. Her teacher is Mrs. Davis and our first impression of her was at Back to School Night. We walked into her classroom which is decorated in a pirate theme, and there was Mrs. Davis dressed up like a pirate saying, "Ahoy Mateys, Arrrr ya ready to learn!" Hilarious! We instantly loved her. Ryllie went on a treasure hunt to learn her way around the classroom and then at the end her teacher gave her a treasure (a treat bag with gold chocolate coins and goldfish crackers).

Maddux is so lucky to have Mrs. Burk. Ryllie had her also and we think she is just the best kindergarten teacher ever. When you take your kindergartners on the first day, they have a "BooHoo Breakfast" for the parents, and I'm sure many of you know someone or have been a parent yourself who cried at your child's first day of kindergarten. NOT ME! I was ready to do a few hallelujah shouts, a jig, and some cartwheels at Maddux's first day of school. Not because I don't love her dearly, but because she is in constant need of entertainment. She has been such a happy girl getting to spend 3 hours a day at school, and I love the quiet and the chance to clean house before my busy girls (who seem to mess it up in .5 seconds) get home. I have to comment too on Max's first day of school outfit, she picked it out herself (not mom's taste), and she loves it so much that she wants to wear it everyday. I have told her it needs to washed even though it is clean and folded and hidden in my closet! I'll pull it out after a week or so. :) LOL!

Cy started preschool, and of course loves every second of it. He has been learning his letters and sounds and is getting pretty darn good at it. I swear by the Leapfrog DVD called the "Letter Factory". If you don't own it, buy it! I have him watch it daily and he loves it, and all my kids have learned their letters and sounds from that DVD. It's awesome!

Day 4 of daddy at scout camp, me and the kids met up with Grandpa Mike and Grandma Lori at this awesome park by their house. Grandpa Mike brought some KFC and Summer & Jordyn came up and the kids played and played. And after they were done playing we all went to Arctic Circle for icecream and to play just a little more! The kids all fell asleep on the way home! Thanks Mike & Lori for wearing them out! And thanks for dinner too!

Wacky Wednesday- Payson Lake

During the week that Casey was at Scout Camp, our Wacky Wednesday activity was Payson Lake. It was the most perfect day! The weather was gorgeous, the lake wasn't too busy, it was just perfect! Kenice, Mitsy, and Crysta brought their kids up, and my friend Rhonda was able to come as well. We brought lots of swim toys, games, scooters, and food! It was great. We arrived at around 10:30am and stayed till 6pm, and I could have stayed longer, we were having so much fun. Here are some pictures to prove it!

While Casey was at Scout camp, me and the kids spent their last week of Summer break just playing hard! Casey left Monday morning, and we spent most of that day cleaning house and completing projects that I've been wanting to get done, then that night the playing began. Ryllie had her friends Abby & Tatum sleepover, and Maddux invited Jordyn to sleepover. We put a TV out on the deck and they watched a movie out there under the starts. They loved it! Cy cracks me up, just chillin with all the ladies! :)

On Tuesday after dance class, Noelle invited me and the kids to go on a leisure hike up to donut falls. Unfortunately I forgot the camera, but Noelle promised she'd send me some, so hopefully I will get them posted soon. Anyway, the hike was beautiful and it is always nice to get outdoors. Hadlie was hilarious, she is so independent and did not want any help, even over the rough rocky terrain she insisted on no help. She biffed it a couple of times, but

overall did great. That night we rented a Redbox and got Del Taco and watched movies again on the deck.

Adrienne & the Scary Dinosaurs

I was so glad that Adrienne came into town, and even happier when she invited me and the kids to tag along and go with her and her cute kids to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. As you can see, Adrienne is still GORGEOUS! And I had so much fun chatting with her like old times! Although I don't get to see or talk to her nearly enough, it is always like no time has passed and we can talk and laugh like we have seen each other everyday of our lives.
I sure am grateful to have friends like her! And by the way, Adrienne LOVED the dinosaur museum. :) Thought I'd throw that in for you A, in case you read this.

15 year class reunion

I am soooo OLD! I helped plan and organize my HS reunion that happened on August 1st. We made it a family friendly event, with a catered BBQ, bounce houses, and sno cones, popcorn, and cotton candy. I loved seeing old friends and meeting their kids. And I so appreciated the help from some of my classmates, especially Christine, Marci, and Kate! With all the hustle and bustle on the night of the reunion I failed to take pictures!

Pioneer Weekend Camptrip!

Over the weekend of Pioneer Day we joined the Clarks up past Strawberry for a camping weekend. I was a bit reluctant when I found out how primitive this campspot was and taking the trailer up that dirt road made me nervous as well, but we made it up with only two jacks busted. :) Once we set up camp I realized why the Clarks love going up to this spot. It is beautiful! We ended up having such a blast! The company was great! One of Dave's friends, Bruce, and his teenage daughters came up and they were darling. They brought 4 wheelers and one of them was a child's wheeler so Ryllie and Max got to learn how to ride them and absolutely loved it. Bruce brought dirt bikes as well, and Casey loved taking it for a ride. We also went down to Strawberry Reservoir to catch crawfish and hang out at the lake. We also brought the clay pigeons and guns, and the guys can't get enough of that. The Clark's really know how to camp, they bring EVERYTHING! We watched movies on their projector and ate delicious dutch oven dinners courtesy of Casey and Kelly. Dave, of course, had us laughing the whole time. Thanks for inviting us up Dave, Kelly, and River! We are still pulling flies out of our hair! :)

This was Ryllie's first year of Little League, and who knew, she is pretty good! Casey coached her team, and she was fortunate to have several kids from the ward on her team, so they had a great time. Kylee, and Ellie were the other little girls on her team, so she had other girls to hang out with. This season, she beaned one kid, and got beaned once herself. Funny thing, it was during the same game! Classic case of what goes around comes around!

Wacky Wednesday- The Living Planet Acquarium

The Acquarium was cool, but way over priced in my opinion. My kids enjoyed seeing all the sea creatures, but we were through in a little over an hour. We weren't ready to call our wacky Wednesday over so we went to the new splash pad in Highland and played in the water and had Little Caesar's 5 buck pizzas. So we ended up having a great Wednesday! Thanks to all the friends who joined us, you make the Wednesday activities so much more fun!

We keep saying what wonderful neighbors we have! A few families in the neighborhood came with us to Palisade Campground near Manti over the 11th of July. I loved loved loved this campground. Can I say loved one more time, cause I loved it! Here are some of the highlights.

Friday: Drove to camp and set up, then went to the Manti house with the Burninghams for dinner. Stayed up late visiting with our fun friends, the Dowdles, Coles, Gibsons, and Burninghams

Saturday: Guys went golfing (yes, I said golfing! There is a golf course at this State park). The gals and kids went and set up our area at the beach. There is a playground for kids, paddleboats to rent, and a dock to swim out to. We could have spent a week just hanging out at the lake. That afternoon, Casey was challenged to a race, nobody thought that he could beat the "so totally in shape and looking awesome" Josh. So we laughed hard as the races began, and lo and behold, that Casey has some serious speed! Good times! That night we made a
Dutch Oven

dinner with 40 mile stew prepared Casey style. SO DELICIOUS! And Darci made us some delicious peach and raspberry cobbler. We always eat so well when we camp. After dinner, 3 of the families headed home, but the Burninghams (Josh and Susie, we call them our die hard friends) stayed one more night with us. We can always count on them to be up for anything. We always have fun with them, and they are always willing to do whatever, whenever. We decided to go to the drive-in movie theatre in Mt. Pleasant. It is totally old school and we love it!

Sunday: We spent most of the morning at the lake and decided to head out early afternoon. We stopped at a little diner for lunch. We love little ma & pa shops. They might take forever to get your food to you, but it always ends of being the best greasy food ever! :)

We are so glad that we were able to go on this campout with our friends and neighbors, and are determined to go again next year!

Old Neighborhood Barbeque!

Casey has some great friends that he grew up with, and we try to get together with them and their families at least once a year. We always have a great time, and I love hearing them reminisce about the good ol days. I think Casey has kissed almost all of his old neighbors that are female!

4th of July Parade!

We invited Jordyn and Summer to sleep over and come to the parade with us Saturday morning. This is the first time Summer has slept over and despite going to bed after midnight, she was still awake by 6am waking up the whole house! Needless to say, we were NOT late for the parade this year. :)

The Whitakers and Crysta's kids were also at the parade, so that made for a great time for the kids.

I have to say, I have always loved going to the parade simply because of the atmosphere. I always tend to get emotional as I feel extreme gratitude for the country that we live in. I am grateful for the freedoms we enjoy. My dad always took me to the parade when I was a kid and taught me the important of patriotism and I am hoping that through the years my own kids will feel that gratitude for our country and for all those who serve so honorably to protect and defend our country.

On July 3rd we were able to go to see Ice Age 3 with Casey's family. Afterwards we went to Noelle's for fireworks and root beer floats. It was a gorgeous night, and we were able to watch the Real Soccer games fireworks from Noelle's backyard! Thanks Grandpa Mike for treating us to the movie, and thanks Noelle for dessert!

Wacky Wednesday- Bridal Veil Falls

On July 1st for Wacky Wednesday we packed our scooters and bikes and rode up the trail near Bridal Veil Falls. The falls were beautiful as always and the kids of course could not resist getting all wet. After playing in the waterfall they rode their scooters back down the trail to the picnicing area and we all had lunch. Everytime I go up the canyons I realize how lucky I am to live in such a beautiful area and I am always determined to enjoy the mountains more often! Thanks to everyone who came, it was super fun!

St. George with Mark & Michelle

I can't believe I didn't even get a picture of Mark and Michelle! Mark & Michelle are our fun neighbors, and we feel very fortunate to live next to some awesome neighbors. We met them down in St. George and had a fun day of shopping, movies, dinner, and the Tuacahn. I was so excited that my mom could come with us to the Tuacahn to see Footloose. It is rare when I can just sit down next to my mom without kids and other distractions and just enjoy being with her. I love her so much! I also love Casey and I don't think I have laughed so hard as the Friday night when we went to see Annie at the Tuacahn. He was being so hilarious and was just so much fun to be with. Thanks for such a fun weekend!

Wacky Wednesday- This is the Place Heritage Park

I can always count on my friend Susie to come with me on my Wacky Wednesday adventures. This park was so neat and educational, we all learned a lot about the pioneers. The kids got to tour different pioneer homes and businesses and got to do hands on crafts like making rag dolls, hand washing clothes, beating rugs, pulling wool, making bead bracelets and arrowhead necklaces, and making candles. They also got to ride ponies, pet goats and sheep, go to pretend pioneer school, play in a minature pioneer village, ride trains, get a pretend haircut, look inside indian teepees, and go through fully furnished pioneer homes. It was fantastic!

Rainy Days at Lagoon means NO LINES! Yahoo!

We may have been a little drenched, but nothing that a fresh change of clothes wouldn't cure. We played in the rain half the day riding all the rides that you get wet on, and after the rain stopped and we were drenched, we all went back to the car, changed into some nice dry clothes and jackets and then enjoyed the rest of the day with NO LINES! We were walking right on to every ride, it was the best time ever! Ryllie has no fear of rides, she and Casey were roller coastering it up! Even Maddux got brave and rode the Rocket, and some of the other big rides. Way to go Max! I love watching her go on rides because she is so animated! She always puts her hands in the air and screams at the top of her lungs. It is so funny! The picture of Cy on the Tidal Wave is my favorite! He tried so hard to be brave, but it scared him. After that ride, I asked him if he wanted to go on it again, and trying to be brave he went on it again! Yeah for Cy! He loved the mini Puff the dragon coaster ride and rode on that at least a dozen times. Hadlie was a good girl all day. She was so funny on rides because she would just sit there like they didn't even phase her, no emotion at all! But when the rides were over and you had to take her off she would get ticked and scream. I use to be the roller coaster queen, but since having kids I get motion sickness easy. But not this day! I was able to ride a lot of rides too and not get sick! It was the best Lagoon day ever!

Every year our family goes to the Orem Summerfest night parade and carnival. We always park at Cuckoo's house and walk over to the parade. During the parade the missionary mall people were coming past and throwing out ties. Ryllie caught one last year so we were determined we were gonna get another one this year. So Casey & I stand up and start yelling like we are five trying to get one, after 30 seconds or so they had passed and we did not get one. We were crushed, not really, but we looked back and Hadlie is not on the blanket! Oh Crap! I forgot for half a minute that I have a child who doesn't know the meaning of "stay by mom". I look back by the church behind us and notice my little girl coming back from this table some people had set up that had food on it, and she hit the jack pot!

Isn't she a cute little thief? I looked around for someone to tell them sorry but NO ONE ever came to that table, and there was no taking the donut away from her. Cy kept saying he needed one too. After not seeing anyone ever come to the table, I was tempted to let him go get one too, but I didn't. Hadlie was nice enough to share with him. LOL! I guess I need to remember to keep a better eye on that girl. I do feel fortunate she didn't go far in that crowd of people. I would have been a panicking mother if that was the case. But the donut story is pretty funny!

Wacky Wednesday- Cascade Springs

Cascade Springs is ALWAYS gorgeous. I had Kenice's kids that day, so me and 8 kids and a bunch of friends went up for our Wacky Wednesday adventure. When we got there we had our packed lunch, and 7 of the 8 kids took off. Now this park isn't huge, so I wasn't that upset but was a little peeved they didn't wait for me. When I got to the top I noticed a fork. One way takes you back to the springs, the other way takes you on a 1/2 mile hike up to the upper parking area. Yes, that is where the 7 kids went, so then I was angry that they didn't wait at the fork. So after I found them and gave them the mean mom voice and after some sorrys were said we had a great time. :) The springs were great and the drive (although kinda long) was so beautiful, I really enjoyed it! Thanks to all that came to Wacky Wednesday Cascade Springs!

Wacky Wednesday- Bean Museum & BYU Creamery

WHERE WERE YOU?!

The Bean Museum was great! We had such a fun group of friends, and the kids loved seeing all the animals from BIG to small. Big animals like elephants down to small butterflies, it was so much fun! The Bean Museum is free and they have little workshops at certain times, and I found out that if you call in advance, they will take you on a tour and schedule a reptile show (with real snakes!) for your group. Too bad I didn't know that before we went, but now you know, so you can schedule your trip!

After we went and had delicious icecream at the BYU creamery! Thanks for all the friends who came and made it that much more fun!

33 is gonna be my Lucky year!

I told Casey as we headed to Vegas for my birthday getaway that this was gonna be my lucky year because 3 is my favorite number and I am turning 33 so twice the luck! Yeah, I should have knocked on wood.

The weekend was great. My mom & sisters watched my kids for the weekend, and I have to give a HUGE thank you to them for all they did for me and my kids. I know it isn't easy to take on 4 kids for 3 days, so thank you thank you! Over the weekend we stayed at the Red Rocks Hotel and loved it. The room was huge and beautiful, the pool was amazing, the hotel had a movie theatre, a 60 lane bowling alley, an arcade, a food court, etc. It was huge! We were able to golf, swim, eat at the Steakhouse, Geri's nugget, visit Fremont street and see the Gordie Brown show, saw Fleetwood Mac at the MGM, and even catch a movie. Like I said, the weekend was great, and I really appreciate Casey for planning such a fun weekend for us. We got home Monday morning, and my birthday was Tuesday.

So on the official day I turned 33, my lucky year began with Maddux and Cy having a yogurt fight. I had just finished bathing and dressing Cy, and my kitchen was clean, so I was ticked off at them for that one. I know, it's funny now to imagine my kids sliming yogurt all over each other, but at the time, not funny. Then I decided to head to the gym. On the way to the gym I was headed down AF main where there are several cars that park on the side of the road and as I was driving down the street I hear "BANG!" I look over and my side mirror is shattered. I drive up to a safe place to pull over and look at it. I still can't figure it out. Either I hit someone else's side mirror (I would have to be awfully close to the cars to do that), or someone started opening their car door as I was passing, or a tree branch or some other obstuction hit it. Anyhow, I have never had this happen before but decide that I better go make sure it wasn't me that hit someone elses car. I drive back and look at the cars parked on the road and I can't see any damage so I go to the next light to take a left so I can turn back around. A delivery truck with extended side mirrors is driving the opposite direction and "bang" hits the other one! I didn't cap the second bang because it didn't hit it hard and only left a small scratch, but I swear I have never had a side mirror hit, let alone 2 in five minutes time! I suddenly had this strange feeling that I need to go home and not leave the house that day. :) The worst part for me was hearing how much it was going to cost to fix the mirror. So my 33rd year didn't start off as lucky as I would have hoped. :)

Memorial Day Weekend in Scofield 2009

Memorial Day weekend in Scofield was great this year. Kenice's family and my dad came up for the day on Saturday, unfortunately I didn't whip out the camera until they were just getting ready to leave, but we loved having them there! Our friends Dave & Kelly and their son River came up, and let me tell you, these guys know how to camp! They had just about everything you could ever dream of for camping. They brought up a projector and a big canvas and we were able to watch "Madagascar 2" on a screen in the wilderness! It was so much fun! They also brought up their 4 wheeler and the kids loved every minute of that. Casey's cousin Rob and his family also came up. My girls LOVED playing with their daughters Sammy & Jaycee. The weather cooperated for the most part this year. We never know what we are gonna get every Memorial Day in Scofield, but Casey insists on going, and so I am always crossing my fingers we will have good weather (last year it snowed on us, and the trailer got stuck!). I had so much fun with the Hansen's and the Clark's that they better be coming again next year!

Temple Square with Amy!

We have a family friend who lives in California. Amy works in the mortgage industry with Casey and every once in awhile she comes out for work, and we get to have her stay with us. My kids adore her, and I love her too. She is a lot of fun. This trip we were able to take her to Temple Square and to the Conference Center. We also took her to see the Joseph Smith movie which she described as "interesting". :) We love teaching her about our faith and why we believe in the gospel, and she always listens and respects our values, and we really appreciate her. Thanks for the fun time again! We will see you in September!

Maddux is on this kick lately of dressing herself in one color. She will wear all green one day, all red one day, this day it was all black, it is hard to tell, but she has shorts on with knee high church stockings, and it made me laugh to see this outfit! She cracks me up!

The Eagles Concert

This concert was so AWESOME! These guys are sixty-ish and can still sing like crazy! They had so much energy and have so many classic songs, it was a blast. We were able to go with Casey's dad Mike and his wife Lori, and also Casey's Uncle Kelly and his girlfriend Janet. We had a great time! Thanks for the fun date Casey!

Congratulations to my sister Kaysha for graduating with HONORS from SUU. I am very proud of her. She is a single mom who has been working and doing school for 4 years and I am so excited that she has finished her degree. She amazes me!
